Introducing the Vision for Moonlit Place: A Proposed Affordable-Housing Community
At S & S Foundation, Inc., we believe housing provides the foundation for financial stability, stronger families, and healthier communities. That belief is at the heart of Moonlit Place, a proposed affordable-housing development currently in predevelopment in Tallahassee, Florida.

The current concept includes up to 24 apartments in a three-story, garden-style community intended to serve low- to moderate-income families, individuals experiencing housing insecurity, and veterans. The project’s final design and construction timeline will depend on required approvals and available financing.
Responding to a Growing Community Need
The demand for affordable housing across Tallahassee and Leon County continues to exceed the number of homes available. S & S Foundation has received interest from more than 600 individuals seeking housing or related assistance. Behind every number is a person or family trying to create a safer and more secure future. Moonlit Place is our response to that need.
The development is intended to offer more than an affordable place to live. Residents will have opportunities to connect with S & S Foundation’s Advancing Homeownership Program, which promotes financial education, budgeting, credit building, homebuyer preparation, and long-term housing stability.
For some residents, Moonlit Place may provide the breathing room needed to rebuild financially. For others, it may become an important step on the journey toward sustainable homeownership.
Progress Through Partnership
S & S Foundation has assembled experienced professionals to help move Moonlit Place through planning and predevelopment. The project team includes civil engineering, architectural, environmental, development, and construction expertise.
The Foundation has also worked with housing and community partners to explore funding, technical assistance, and long-term affordability options. Environmental review, infrastructure coordination, design development, and financing are essential parts of this process.
Affordable-housing development requires patience, careful planning, and strong partnerships. Although Moonlit Place remains in development and construction has not yet begun, each completed step brings the vision closer to reality.
